Which girl doesn’t dream of a fairy tale wedding, in an exotic locale… A gorgeous big fat Indian wedding, in the palaces of Maharajas or an intimate ceremony by the sea?
Answer- EVERY GIRL.
‘Then what is it, that stops her from having a destination wedding of her dreams’, you ask? That would be thanks to the misconceptions that surround the very idea and the horror stories of a few unfortunate cases; that relatives love to regale the elders of the family with.
But fear not, dear bride; if you too have dreamt of a magical destination wedding, we’ve got some pretty solid reasons to arm you with, the next time you discuss your wedding plans with the elders!
1) Works out cheaper
Most hotels that cater to destination weddings, offer fabulous deals on wedding packages that generally include- lodging and all meals. The only additional cost is that of décor, which too can be minimalistic at a destination wedding.
2) You get to spend quality time with your guests
A wedding is far easier to attend or host when the time spent in travelling from one venue to another, is eliminated. In the time saved, the hosts get to catch up with their guests and entertain them at their own leisure!
No more running to the venue an hour before to see if the bar is ready or not * excited jiggle*
3) Only the ones who genuinely love you, are there
The general rule in destination weddings is that guests take care of the travel expense themselves and the host puts them up at the venue. It is this very rule that eliminates half of the guest list and only those who genuinely want to be there, make the trip for your nuptials.
4) You get to have two honeymoons
Once the ceremonies are over, book yourselves and your family (this one’s totally your call) for a day or two more at the venue. So that you are completely relaxed and can properly enjoy the destination you made beautiful memories in. Once back, leave for another holiday with only your husband!
(We took a poll and most girls would have a destination wedding for this reason alone)
5) It’s the fair thing to do when it’s a 2-states wedding
No one get’s the ‘home turf’ advantage; but everyone enjoys themselves to the maximum!
